Raft and Rafting
Rafts are objects used to travel over water. Rafts are normally flat, and are made of objects that floats on water. They are built using floatable materials like wood, inflated air balloons, drums etc. And it is these light floatable materials that makes a raft to float over water.
From time immemorial, man used rafts for traversing the water ways. If the earlier rafts were used as a dependable means for transporting men and material across water, the modern day rafts have evolved from simple means of transport to a popular adventure sports.
While rafts are materials that float on water, all floating materials are not considered rafts. When the floating material is able to carry men or materials and is navigable, then it is generally called as a raft.
